Soooooooo right!

I look at your work and know what it is about me that will never allow me to be a great photog.

I'm glad I get to experience your vision.

Such an awesome shot! Very clever.

Can't find the words. Like it so much.

PostLuminous Award Nominee!

When I saw this in the challenge, I wondered if it was yours. Excellent.
05/21/2008 12:40:02 PM
fantastic, as usual
05/21/2008 11:59:48 AM
I'm so much more into the people than the bike (in terms of the Challenge and I coudn't care less about that) but this is one killer shot. The processing/exposure here reminds me what a chicken-shit I am when it comes to DPC and entering/posting high contrast shots. I need to grow a set and get back to doing what I think is right. Cheers!

this shot is fantastic! Avg. score: 6.158? It's underrated!

An extremely admirable image that fell victim to the rigors of challenge interpretation.

Well done.

It is a modern utopia.

The bike really doesn't catch my eye.
05/20/2008 10:42:53 AM
Amazing. I love it. 10.
05/20/2008 12:19:53 AM
Love the quote for the subject, but the bike doesn't really seem like the focus. Good matting. Good contrast.
05/19/2008 08:09:50 PM
So, you will probably get a lot of "wish the bike was in focus" sorta comments. I will say that the bike/rider being out of focus actually makes this image work for me. The sharply focused kissing couple is wonderful, and having my eye drift off the oof bike and find them is a nice surprise.

You might crop out the serious looking woman on the left, even though it means losing a bit of the rider's arm. Keep all of the front tire in, I think it will work even better. She kinda kills the mood created by the rest of the image. Still I like this a lot. 8

This would be a good image if the focus was on the bike instead of the couple kissing. You do have a bike in the image but you wanted the eyes to see the people kissing. I got pinged with a few DNMC idiots because of things like this but clearly I can see a bike in the image so it meets IMO. Just would have been better if the focus was on the bike, we would have still been able to see the couple.

this is one of my favorite shots in the challenge! The tones are just right, crop is perfect, love the unsharpness of the bike. the couple in background is really nice. Very good seen! And a lovely little story
05/17/2008 09:19:33 PM
Get a room ! :)
I think it is a fun shot, nice.
05/16/2008 07:00:10 PM
GET A ROOM!! ya you there in the back! get a room!
05/16/2008 06:53:02 PM
Thanks for sharing the moment
05/16/2008 02:51:15 PM
in fact the bike being there is rather annoying
but still nice shot 7
05/16/2008 09:26:43 AM
Great candid street shot!
Just a pity the cyclist is oout of focus here...
05/16/2008 09:22:27 AM
Really interesting street shot, but the bicycle seems to be incidental. IMNSHO the large border detracts from the shot.
05/15/2008 02:03:30 PM
I looks like your subject is the couple on the right side
05/15/2008 01:38:25 PM
Reminds me of this famous photo from the end of WWII:

My only quibble is that because of the focus, the subject is not the bicycle, but the kissing couple.
05/15/2008 10:21:10 AM
Awesome shot!
05/15/2008 09:59:33 AM
I like this picture but my eye is torn to the people in the backround more then the bike
05/15/2008 09:40:50 AM
Interesting photo with fantastic composition. I like how the bike isn't what's in focus but it's in the foreground. Good choice with the sepia
05/15/2008 02:26:56 AM
Hey! Great street shot! I wonder if you'll get the bike isn't in focus comments...
05/15/2008 12:22:28 AM
fun 7
05/14/2008 10:06:38 PM
Nice image!
05/14/2008 08:57:40 PM
Very nice capture of groping hands in the background. I like the humor you've incorporated.
05/14/2008 06:19:10 PM
Focus is on couple, the bike is a distraction
05/14/2008 10:12:59 AM
The background takes away from the bike
05/14/2008 09:39:49 AM
wow, the bike take a second seat to the background
05/14/2008 09:26:36 AM
I find myself looking at the couple, which is bad. Nice shot but def. not for this challenge. The bike should have been the emphasis.
05/14/2008 08:28:02 AM
Nice street scene, the bike is not the focus of the picture but I still like this
05/14/2008 05:07:45 AM
Don't like the oversharpening (halo) around the bike. However I really like this shot, but feel that it is in the wrong challenge. 5
05/14/2008 04:48:34 AM
what a lucky shot, reminds me of Cartier-Bresson (I just hope it isn't staged, would still be great, but would have voted lower). Toning and bold frame work very well. 10
05/14/2008 03:35:14 AM
interesting image...perhaps the main subject here is the couple and not the bike, but interesting nonetheless 7
05/14/2008 12:16:20 AM
if this was not staged I'd say it is one of my favorite pics on DPC. I'm going to assume its not and give you a 10
