Thanks for all the comments guy's, however, I'll have to wait a bit longer for my first blue, since I self-disqualified myself yesterday prior to the end of voting! Reason - when I realised this may actually get me a ribbon, I decided to go over what I'd done in pp to submit as proof. On checking, I noticed that the antique light preset I used in lightroom, had actually placed a slight vignette around my image (not allowed in basic editing!) :-( so as you can imagine, I was pretty peeved off as I was sure this was going to get me a ribbon! I could have chanced it, but in the end I'd only be fooling myself, so I asked for the image to be unsubmitted a couple of days ago, but they advised me I had to self-disqualify myself instead. I presume they haven't got round to removing my image yet!!! So, congratulations philcozz on the blue.

Disqualification Details
Per your self-reported vignette application. the normal DQ will keep the image visible, and thus keep comments. We will not assess penalty for this DQ since it was a self-report.

That's too bad.

Well you know you got the blue ribbon by votes, so I hope that take the sting out.

I loved this shot and still love it and it is actually one of my favorite shots. Good of you to be honest, I'm sure others aren't so forthcoming. Next time your blue will be for real.

Your honesty will be your claim to fame!
Hard one to take, but still a very nice image.

Thats really cool that you self reported-- commendations to you and it won't take you long to get back on top. It's tough to say W/o seeing the original, but the vignette hardly seems present.

It's a lovely study of dark and light. Good work!

Congrats on an awesome image, a great score, and a wonderful sense of honesty. It's a good reminder to all to be careful about using automated filters in basic - need to make sure what they do.

Wow! Awesome of you to disqualify yourself... kinda only makes one respect you even more!

In the meantime, you taught a valuable lesson to those of us who have yet to submit.

I'd still cry if I saw this! LOL

Wow, sorry to hear about the DQ news, but this is an awesome shot. Not every shot looks good in sepia but this one stands out. I love the contrast between the sky and the tower.

It is unfortunate, because without the vignette, I reckon it would have done pretty much as well and probably earned me a ribbon anyway! Never mind :-( but thank you all for the nice comments!

Sorry to hear about your self-disqualification! Your shot is great, and to have it pulled because of a LR preset is unfortunate. I nearly got caught that way on the last challenge I entered (Centered Composition III), when I used a LR preset, too.

Best wishes!

Whatever - everything looks 'at 100%' to me and not 'selective'. Quit nitpicking yourself and take the ribbon!
