What I like

I like the lighting of this image, it gives a good sense of mood and anticipation.
the angle has given the player a larger, meaner appearance ie dont mess with me buddy.

What I dont like
Is that the editing has made the shadows noisy and grimy!
the background is too black I would prefer to see some shadowy figures to give the feeling thiswas a real game and not just a posed shot.
Congratulations on atop 25 finish.

Good composition and lighting. To me, his expression looks a bit...well, sad, as opposed to intimidating.

GO STARS! :P This is a great shot. The shadowing adds such mood to the portrait and the negative space to the left works well. You might be able to crop just a touch of the neg space off and still get a very impactful photo. Nice job!

As an Ice hockey fan I love this photograph. I love the idea of the lighting techniques to create the shadows and make it have an impact. Looks mysterious, great photograph :)

Quite good lighting, well composed and with good use of negative space. Over all very well done.
