This building is across the street from where I catch the bus every day on my way home from work. I've been drawn to the interesting reflections and lighting effects that can develop when the light is just right.

Of course, one could argue that there are "odd" aspects to this photo (the three points, for example), but I felt that the strong left-right symmetry and the pairing of object and reflection tipped things into the "even" side of the ledger.

Simple post-processing in Aperture:
- straighten
- crop
- increase definition
- increase saturation
- adjust global contrast
- levels
- edge sharpen

Wow...you did a great job displaying the symetry of this building. What's the name of it btw?

Post-Challenge

Wow ... I must admit I'm a little shocked. I was hoping to score in the high 5s, a nice, measured, improvement over my previous entries. Instead, this score pretty much blows away my previous personal best. That alone was far more than I was expecting for this image; to win a ribbon---icing on the cake.

The only problem is, I've now set a very difficult bar for myself to surpass in the future...

perfect angle on this shot. i suppose this may have affected the lighting but i would have liked to see some clouds in the sky above the building to give some contrast to the blue. great photo though

My initial reaction to the photo was that it is technically very nice but not very interesting. Coming back to it later it grabbed me a little more and the more I look at it the more I like it.

Very nice shot.

I guess it's 'even', even though there are 3 points along the top, and three points if you count upwards - but if you count them all it's 6 - and that's nice and even :- )

Anyway nice shot and nice colours.

This picture is very interesting, with the reflections in itself. The blues also don't blend together, which make the picture work.

You lined this up perfectly for the symmetry! The color feels a little dull, perhaps an adjustment to hue or contrast to make it a warmer blue?

This picture is very monochromatic. It is also very geometric.

Perfect angle for this. Symmetry is a good take on the Even concept and the blue throughout means no distractions from the theme.

There's a building in Ottawa that looks like this. I like the symmetry and all the blue.
