This macro is part of a hand-carved park bench that is, also, a work of art, called "The Family" because the seat and back of the bench are formed out of enough separate pieces of wood to make it look like the lower torso, chest, and head of three "individuals."

Not only is "The Family" a work of art, but it was commissioned by the city to be used as a "rest stop" on the Blind Willie McTell Trail that meanders from downtown Statesboro to the Parks & Recreation Department (on the north corner of an intersection across from Georgia Southern University.)

Blind Willie McTell is a jazz/blues artist of local fame. The trail was created to parallel the main railroad tracks in town and was created for the benefit of walkers and cyclists alike (color-coded for ease of traffic for each.)

the knots are positioned well, and add a nice effect to the photo. Good cropping job

I lovel bark/tree shots. Better IMO if the "eyes" were in focus. The DOF draws me right to the crack in the middle of the shot.
