Meet "William, a three year old foster child being raised in a group home. His birth mother is in prison for drugs and prostitution offenses. His birth father is unknown. His foster mother is not related to him and is a grandmother, and she has five other foster children in her home. She is trying to adopt them. He is the sweetest child. He did not talk at all when he first came to our center...but now he talks and sings and plays with the other kids. He has some speech problems and is receiving speech therapy services regularly, and that, with the classroom education he receives daily, will help make a huge difference in his future.

We were at the zoo and I snapped this candid of him...it reminded me of that John Mayer song. :)

a sad story of our times .. its a beautiful photograph of william .. he looks a lot older than three years old .. i feel for him and his mother .. both can be seen as tragedies .. but how wonderful that he's with a wonderful foster mother who hopefully will give him love and a feeling of security ... its ppl like her who turn a tragedy into a story of hope & give inspiration to others .. :)
