Challenge: Negative Image II (Basic Editing)

How I did this image.

Well - I really didnt expect this to score as well as it is doing. At 125 votes in on Saturday morning I am at 7.000. Figured that a high 5 was all this was good for. I was also surprised at how few negative negative entries there were. Only 4 or so if I remember correctly. Thought there would be a bunch more.

Looking forward to rollover. I now have high hopes for a ribbon (which still just seems a bit silly for this shot).

I gave it a nine, Tim... I really like your idea and the "execution" (I hate to use that word anywhere near your adorable son). The only reason it wasn't a ten is that I really don't like the look of faces/eyes Inverted. Might be prejudiced... but that's my story and I'm sticking with it. *grin* Congrats on your big win! You always have fascinating images.

yes i quess it is a bit off sour grapes
because when i introduced the droste effect in the challenge
booksmart i got DQ
and not such an amount off backscratching thats happening now

but then and again
we will be back

I guess ultimately that was not the purpose of this image. I didn't shoot it to be a long standing piece of artwork and to stand the test of time. It was a gimmick shot that was meant to hopefully appeal to the voting crowd here at DPC and get a good score.

I am sure you could go through many of my entries here at DPC and call them out as boring as well (I know I could make a long list) but I am not sure if that really is the issue. Comes off more as sour grapes here. But hey - you do what you need to do my friend. God bless!

Congrats Tim! Very cool!

But I too would like to know how you did it in basic editing. I would understand a color kid holding B&W photos, but the B&W kid holding color photos has me a bit confused.

Please, do tell.

Are you planning a How-To for this shot? I understand it to some degree, but I'm not quite "connecting all the dots." Thank You so much! :)

Congrats, dude!

Tim, congrats on your Blue - and glad to see that your comp with eyewave is still going strong :- )

While you describe this as a 'gimmick' shot it clearly had a pile of work go into it, and my blurry old eyes cant quite make out how many prints were used for the main print - is it 6 shots inside one ? or more ? everyone different, and all of them able to bring a smile to the viewers face.

Not a gimmick shot at all - a very good shot indeed :- )
