 Went out to the Woldumar Nature Center looking for fauna or anything else interesting to shoot. Coming up empty, I decided to do a self-portrait, from behind. I was walking down this path and thought it would make for a great composition. I placed my camera low to the ground on a tripod and set the 12 sec timer. Prior to this, I knew roughly where I wanted to place myself for the shot so I prefocused on the ground where I am walking(since my dof was very shallow). After hitting the shutter release, I ran down the path and then slowed to a walk listening for the fast beeping coming from the camera. This particular shot was my 2nd try. As soon as I saw how my right leg was lifted and bent, I knew I had what I was looking for.

PP is primarily a mix of three Nik filters. Midnight, Foliage, and Pro Contrast. I cloned out a logo on the upper back of my fleece coat. I burned the path and the trees in the background. Dodged the straw type grass and my coat a little. That's about it.

I have no idea how this will score in a free study(my first one in fact). But I really like this shot a lot. I guess I don't care how the voters will rate it. Isn't that the point?
