Week 12

Taken while at Borders picking up the Light,Science and Magicphotography lighting book(which is a pretty cool book). I have been carrying my G9 with me when I go out and about just in case something cathces my eye. Walking through the sections I thought the long rows of books and ladders made for an interesting shot. I guess this isn't a true b&w but it's close enough this week. Kind of reminds me of the Ghostbusters scene in the basement of the library.

Nice lines and textures you created in this shot. I don't think I've ever seen one without tons of people.

reminds me of when I used to sneak in a sandwich at my school library.

makes you feel like you are there

I guess business was slow at Borders that day. I like the lines throughout the shot.

Excellent perspective in this shot, and great B&W tones. Very interesting shot indeed.

I like the low perspective. Gives me the eyes of a kid wandering through all these tall stacks filled with books. The slight coloring fits perfectly when thinking of old books.

I like the angle and perspective here. Second Third the comments about books. I spend HOURS browsing (although here most of the books are in a language I don't speak!)

Great capture. Talk about leading lines....

Blatant self-promotion -- a bookshop photo I did for the February Slice of Life Side Challenge

The G9 looks like a better low light camera than my G7 which kinda sux. As for the shot, not too terribly interesting but well taken.

I've JUST come home from my local library - I LOVE them, so obviously this jumped out at me.

LOVE the conversion, and the fact that there are no people in the image - it's makes me feel like someone is just around the corner - GRIN!

excellent perspective. the low angle does the job and the multitudes of leading lines... nicely done.

I agree Melethia, books are great! I just love the smell of a book store and the smell of a new books.

I like the lines of it all and do like the toning - still monochromatic which counts in my book. What I really like, though - all the books. Aren't books the most wonderful things? I fear the day they'll become obsolete. Hope I'm not around to see it. Oh, and a really good way to integrate annoying lighting well into the picture - serves as an element instead of a distraction.
