This is a couple I did a shoot with this weekend. I had my big softbox powered by 3 crazy long extension chords to get it out to this location behind a friend's house. Although it is not obvious in the original, the softbox was crucial for getting light onto their faces because the shade was backlighting them here. The sun is where the bright area in the clouds is, and in order to get the background as dark as it was I had to light them with the softbox. I have a color and bw version of this because I wasn't sure which one I liked better, but I like bw better after coming back to them. I would love second opinions though.

Great shot. I am a little surprised at the score not resulting in higher, but really good work anyhow. You know you could save up and grab the new Vagabond II :) -then you wouldn't have to run extension cords quite so far. Great job with the black and white conversion, it works very well.

the scene is lovely and the lighting is well done but I think something about the posing and expressions kept this from scoring higher. I think there is not a clear emotion or meaning being shown. The fact that they are looking in 2 different directions doesn't help either. Perhaps she could have been doing something on the rock and he could be off in the distance admiring her... or perhaps a more intimate pose on the rocks. Something like that. Just something to create a bit of a story.

A little over-sharpened for my tates, but other-wise I really like this image.

Overall and outstanding image. Well exposed and processed. I would have like though that people where placed on the right so that they would be looking through the image and not having the river valley behind their backs.
