I was considering this for Free Study but didn't want to subject SaraR to my usual FS performance (5.3 or so). So it's a second B&W a week submission.

This is from the small jpeg - I've not been shooting with the small jpeg lately but did while in York with Sara because I wanted to shoot B&W - helps me to "see" the B&W better that way. Processing (it was camera-converted to B&W) included cloning out the edge of the menu, some slight dodging to bring out her hair, and a duotone (actually I think it's a gray tritone). I like this a lot. More importantly, the subject likes it. :-)

Love this portrait! Not a typical portrait, but more than a snapshot. Great angle, expression and editing really connects the subject to the viewer/camera. Wonderful smile and while I'm not usually a fan of large jewelry in a portrait, this on helps frame her up for some reason...especially in the b/w.

Really like how the personality comes out in this portrait. Nice soft lighting, great smile. I really like it in b/w also.

I thought you model looked familiar! You really captured a warm smile; it looks like such a natural, unposed moment.

Love that composition, the way the hairline and the neckline create this terrific curved shape! This could have been your posthumous ribbon! (ok, I admit I haven't looked at the other entries yet...)

It is so nice to put a beautiful face to SaraR. This is so good Deb. She looks like as delightful a person as she seems to be virtually :)
