Week 11

A mailbox out in front of this abandoned house I saw while out driving this day. I like old buildings and the such since they seem to have a story to tell. I felt drawn to the mailbox on this house and how it hopelessly awaits to fulfil it's destiny despite the fact that the mailman will no longer be coming. It just sits as a reminder of what it once was and what it no longer is. I guess we all reach that point eventually.

Very well seen - your photo conveys exactly what your words are saying. The droopy mailbox as the subject is really well placed. Love this.

Sweet and sad at the same time. I want to see that someday the fence will be painted, the mailbox straightened, and a new intact screen in the door. I like the angle you chose to tell your story - the focus on the mailbox.

Awesome! I love the story you told and the story the shot has. This house would be a great fixer upper.

I like old buildings too and this shot draws me in immediately. Showing the mailbox with a bit of the house in background is a tease and makes me want to see more.

I don't know why, but I've always been drawn to old mailboxes too. Maybe it the new generation where mailboxes are in huge banks at the end of the street that these type look so nostalgic and quaint. I love the old abandoned house in the background, and the way you have done this, the dominant mailbox does in fact tell the story of one beckoning to be noticed and not forgotten. I liiiike it! :)

It's a nice simple scene that tells a story. Nice job. And that's the perfect depth of field, with the house just slightly out of focus.

nice image and the old house in the background adds an excellent context for the image. it is oof so it does not distract, but distinct enough to be easily see what it is.
