Location: Banham Zoo
Date: Mar 15, 2008
Aperture: F/5.6

Galleries: Animals, Black and White
Date Uploaded: Mar 17, 2008

Will be interested to see how this scores and reckon it will fly or bomb due to the fact the fence is implied rather than in your face.

Was back at Banham Zoo - they were celebrating their 40th Birthday and bumped into a Zoo Director, the Sri Lankan Leopard was nowhere to be seen and he was crouched behind a bush making weird noises. Then she appeared stalking toward his calls. He has known her since she was a baby and called her a softy (yeah - right). I need to spend a day with him as I'm sure he could get me some fine shots :)

Oh, I remember this one. You got a lot of good images from that zoo. Don't suppose there's a zoo in Tobermory! :)

Did you? Go back & spend a day with your zoo director? Inquiring minds want to know! This is excellent, & PP to perfection.

That's what you get for being subtle.

Oh, what a shame that this 'bombed' rather than 'flew'. It is a beautiful image and I don't understand that voters didn't get the relevance. (Before I joined, so I'm off the hook.).

Yikes! Scratching my head over the average score...

Wicked shot Andi! Defintly didn't deserve the score it got though a lot of people have never shot through a fence before so they don't recongnize the pattern. This works great in b&w and I love the two meaning title, works perfect. I didn't vote in this challenge but I would have probably gave it a 7, higher had it been a freestudy shot. What a beautiful cat in motion, well done!

Fence is maybe 2 shades too subtle, though not without interest. Leopard is wonderful.

Beautiful capture. Sad thing is, I thought I had an original idea with my fence, but found there were others right there with me. Push the envelope and sometimes it rips.

i feel like a jerk. I went back and saw the fence this time around after giving you a low score. You were probably like wtf is wrong with this guy.

Anyways - I like the photo - and the loose interpretation on the theme, but I think the fence is too abstract still. If it werent for a fence competition, I'd have rated it probably as an 8.

Oh my, this is definitely not a sub-5 shot. I gave it a 6 (which probably doesn't sound all that impressive lol) only because I wanted the fence appearance to be a little stronger. The spots on the leopard dominate the whole photo. However, those spots and the leopard are beautifully processed and this is a gorgeous black and white piece.

The fence is such a minor element here, but it's otherwise a "WOW" shot for me. Such great detail on this guy. I'd love to see a larger version, if you have one posted elsewhere.

Great shot, I assume there is a fence between you and the beast ;-)

I suppose the faint lines on the page are part of a fence.. I think the photo should be more about the fence.
