A friend pointed this out to me from the train. I spent all week trying to get pictures as we moved by, but they were more like UFO pictures than anything else. So before the snow melted any further, I drove down there and squelched through the muck to get closer. I was just relieved there wasn't anything gruesome inside. It's at a road maintenance facility, so I think this is the work of several months of blind snow plowing.

You know, I did take some other shots in which the car was less obscured, but I didn't think they conveyed "harshness" as well. Also, by this date the snow was receding a bit, and I wanted to maximize the buried look. And the sky was lovely bright cheerful blue that day, too, not harsh at all, except perhaps in an intellectual "nature doesn't care about your problems, silly mortal" kind of way. :^)

not too fond of the B&W here, the saplings are overpowering but the image is clear and focused, perhaps a different angle with less of the saplings would have made me like this shot better
