Pre-challenge notes:
I plead the 5th amendment!

Post challenge notes:
I intentionally go for the brown, just once, and guess who beats me out! Yep, Charlie Baker.

It took some work to make it this bad. My apologies to the people who genuinely gave me helpful advice and tried to be kind with their comments.
I suppose what kept it above a 3 was that some people liked the point I was making. How a handful of people thought it deserved a 9 or a 10 boggles my mind though.

High ISO noise, bad white balance, glare, high levels of JPEG compression. Softened and then sharpened after resize.

Hey, that's my first blue ribbon winner on the front page. Cool. :)

Maybe some people saw it as an ironic statement - and gave you a 9 or 10 for inferred creative genius? I gave a 3 actually... probably because the concept was good and that i reserve 2's for badly sized shots and i have never given a 1 to my knowledge ;P

This is seriously bad, but I couldn't give it below a 4, because it met the challenge and was still recognizable. Sorry ;-)

Far from the harshest environment. Would have liked a clearer, more noise free version of this image. Crop is not bad except for the little sliver of something you left in the lower left corner.

You have made it extra harsh with the glare from the room lamp and bad white balance.

Amen to that!!!!! Not the best of shots, but certainly deserves scoring higher for the humor and "truth" in this shot! *grin*

Well if you didn't shoot grainy undersized images with better control of your white levels maybe it wouldn't be quite so harsh.

very true and I hate to add to it, this photo is grainy and the light shinning off the screen is distracting, perhaps a contrast adjustment and different lighting would have been better

Only thing I see here is a harsh picture, :)
