Brilliant shot - excellent DOF and a brave choice for the challenge. People tend not to go for images that are disquieting and I feel that your editing is appropriate given that this is a magazine cover where impact is everything.

Critique Club:

First off let me state, this is a great capture. Now what I do see, is the use of burning to enhance the 'pollution'. I don't think that there's anything wrong with that, I just think that in the sky it may be a little too much. Compositionally, and technically this image is very strong. The sense of pollution is really conveyed nicely. I almost feel a cough coming on due to the amount of smog :-) I think that overall you achieved the look you were going for, just try to be subtle, sometimes less is more.

Does this magazine really exists? Is it one of your favorite?, just curious.
About the picture, the darkness makes the picture perfect for such magazine. It really stands out the pollution we live with.

Nice contrast in clolors and a great mood. A good magazine cover, with a vertical format and space at the top that could carry type without spoiling the picture.

I do not know where to begin to tell you how much I love this photograph. The atmosphere is wonderful, spooky, surreal. The composition is perfect, espeially the line of light poles down the right side, giving a frame to the rest of the hoto. The colors are bright enough where they need to be, but muted enough to give a haunting feel. great job, and good luck.

I know this is supposed to look dirty because of the pollution, but this is an amzing shot i love how the colors merge together and the lines are great, the line from the taillights, the street lights and the clouds. Great framing.

I love the color on this. Your composition with the lights on the side also works well with this.
