This was my carrying piece in our most recent IORG (Masonic group, Rainbow Girls) installation. I was installed as Charity, so it was a pretty big ceremony for me. You can't see them, but the feathers on the left side of the mask are purple--very, very pretty little mask. The red wooden roses are rather nice, too. I'm so glad I still have them; I found them in Disney World, I think. You can see the stem to the one (dead) real rose in the vase.

Cropped the original image twice, scaled it down, applied a sharpening filter, used a dodge tool, softglow filter, sharpened, fuzzy select tool used to dodge parts of the blinds in the back, JPEG quality reduced to 97% (just small enough file size to fit, not enough to affect, from what I could see).

Wish the blinds hadn't been there, but y'know what? I'm not a professional, and I need to kick this perfectionist habit, anyway, so I'll deal. On that note, I feel like it would have been a better photo if I had done the same with the background in the top corners as I had with the bottom corners. It took a lot of work, but that might have actually looked better...

While this might be an interesting mask, it doesn't quite make an interesting photograph. There isn't anything to tie it emotionally to the viewer.

Doesn't do it for me. Maybe with a more interesting background and better capture of the color in the mask.
