:-) Congratulations on the placing Alicia.

I can absolutely see why. This is a super use of blur to capture the sense of motion and rushing in a cafe

Great colours as well which gives the picture a real vivaciousness. I have to be honest and say i wondered how this challenge could be anything other than unpleasant to the eye....Thank you for showing me the answer

Great job

All the life, color and zest of a classic diner. This photo breathes!

I wondered if this was yours because of that other diner photo that you shot. lol the first thing that caught my eye was the ceiling fans. Then I am looking around and see the blur of the busy restaurant patrons. Lots to see here. Cool photo!

You have such a knack with capturing the pulse of a place, Alicia. Stunning colors, love the great use of blur without being overbearing. Just a wonderful integration of all aspects.

Back to comment and bump up :) My first thoughts upon seeing this, went immediately to Edward Hopper. Almost an inside out possible scene from Nighthawks. The motion is just enough to give it a painterly feel and not too much that it would blur the individual characters within. The strong colour and light add much to the sense of looking in on a bygone era. I feel this is one of the more well thought out and purposeful entries in this challenge and wish you the best of luck.

I've been to this diner at 3 AM on a Sunday morning after a night out and it looks exactly like this. I thought it was just me.

Great capture.

There are two places where my eye gets stuck in this photo - the left edge where the lady has half a head and the red blob in the middle. Needs something to make it "flow"

You have shown the business of the diner very well....I like the colors, tones, composition, and story very much. Suites my taste greatly.

Somehow this works for me. The blur adds the touch of life to an otherwise static scene.

The more I study this... the more it grows on me. It's like an impressionist painting... telling the story, yet showing no details. Well done!
