shot at 13mm - this is my son, Caleb. I couldn't get him to sit still. This is one of about 25 images and the only one that was any good. Some cloning, all the regular adjustments - I hope I get over 5.5 - my wife thinks it will do well, I am more skeptical!

I thought this was so good! I'm surprised and disappointed that it didn't get a much higher score :(

Great light and use of shadows.

I like the composition and the image. It might be worth tweeking it just a bit away from the tungsten lighting orange cast -- not all the way to "perfect" white balance, as that might be too cold, but so that the warmth of tone comes more from the wood. A small localized burn of the bright highlight in the upper left might also help, as it tends to pull the viewer's eye over there. I really like all the shadows, lines, shapes and forms here. For this challenge, the subtle "peeking" is good--if you have ready access to this location, one of these with no face might be worth it, too.

I love the idea, nice lighting on the scene. The subject could be a little more prominent.

I like this. The stairs lead me to the boy. Good comp.

Nice warm colours and shadows. Lot going on here but overall interesting composition.

Nice idea - the whole picture is a little too yellow though - including the face. There really needs to be a difference in colour to draw your eye in to see the person looking back at the viewer.

Well you took me right to him, didn't you? Great lead, fun to be challenged a smidge here.

Just saw the the person at the last minute which tells me the image lacks the impact to tie in with challenge, on the positive side I really like the prespective.

Oddly, this shot would be better suited in a different challenge with just the stair case. I love everything about this picture except the peek-a-boo. The lighting is wonderful, the textures are engaging and the shapes are interesting. (I hope the child isn't a family member :)!)

I like how the 'busy-ness' of the rest of the photo distracts you from the person in the middle..
