This is a sculpture called Traffic Light Tree (Pierre Vivant) in Londons Carnary Wharf area. It is worth googling to see pictures of the full thing rather than my closely cropped image.

On the day I was there, the background was filled with cranes and development work and getting a half decent angle with no clutter in the background was difficult. In the end I had to get right up underneath it to have just the sky as the background.

Thanks for all the comments

It's too busy for my tastes but since that appears to be the message, well done.

I'd seen a photo of this online before (In several places) and I always thought it was a photoshopped creation. Hope you can fill us in on where this is and why!

Unique idea and a great way of representing congestion.. I find the crop slightly awkward.. I wish the ones nearest the sky were not cut off and had more of the focus..

Is this at an actual intersection or is it some kind of art piece?

the sharpness of your photo makes it stand out

Well, congestion isn't the same as pollution, but still a cool shot.

very well done! I would like to know exactly where this is, so I can avoid this intersection at all costs. tricky subject matter to crop/compose. I might like to see a bit more on the left side, and upper right corner, but hard to know. If it is there in your original, it might be worth trying, and if the entire left turn arrow is available at the bottom, that might be fun to see, too. Might still come right back to this framing, anyway, though. 9

To much going on, but it fits the congestion, but it's a little much for me

where in the world did you find this? this gotta be some sculpture. impossible in reality. excellent find and interesting angle. i wonder why you chose this bw/sepia tone instead of showing various yellow/green/red lights though.

This photogrpah is strong because of the contrast of the all the lights. Alto the lines in this picture lead the viewers eyes to the next light.

Amazing black and white photo, with great movement created by the congestion of metal and great value created between the laps and sky.

I don't think that this is really about pollution. Nice capture though

Good God! Surely this can't be in use! Excellent find and well taken. The angle/perspective and dark tones combine to makes it all feel very imposing.

Great prespective, looks like a redundant traffic light graveyard. The B/W conversion looks a litle dull.

This must be a piece of artwork/statue but its a great fit into the challenge. A different take that makes you think a bit more. Hope this does well for you.
