Challenge: Peek-a-Boo (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Nikon MF 105mm f/2.5 AIS
Date: Mar 7, 2008
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 500
Shutter: 1/125
Date Uploaded: Mar 7, 2008

First flowers of spring for my garden, hellebore.
Taken outside with my 105mm 2.5 AIS and an extension tube.
Underexposed by .7 EV

Not much except for me getting on one knee. Snapshot.
Would have been better at f13 methinks, but then I would have had to gerry-rig some tripod.

Only cropped the bottom to make a 5x7 format.

Trying to shoot more as I was feeling a bit burnt out.

Guessing a 5.4, maybe lower. Depends if people are looking for kids peek-a-booing behind corners and such. I'm actually very happy the way it turned out.

Cheers...good luck to everyone.

Oh well. A little lower than expected, but still I love the shot and think it fits the challenge. Guess I took into account the description to much for peek-a-boo, "Let your imagination run wild!". I did not find the shot too much of a stretch personally. Always next time. Cheers all.

You had flowers in your garden on march 7? must be nice! LOL We are expecting another 10cm of snow today.

I think it is a very nice shot, although perhaps a bit too centered for my taste. Is there a reason why you chose to make it a greyscale image instead of celebrating the colours of spring?

I don't really see the peek-a-boo here, but it makes sense when I read it was the first flower of Spring. But all that doesn't matter. I think the image is very strong. I like the symmetry, contrast, and amazing detail.

I gave it a 6. I guess count me as not being broad-minded enough. I scored it the way I did because I thought it was very pretty. It's a beautiful close-up and the black and white just does a wonderful job of enhancing the details and textures. I see this as more of a FS shot. Nice job no matter what score it has.

very purty. I gave this a 7. I could clearly see the peek-a-boo here.

Sorry, but I don't get it. Is the middle leaf/petal peaking through the side ones?

Lovely Macro, light tones and the contrast even if it's a little bit of a reach for the challenge :)

Art speaks differently to different people. Not my cup of tea.

I want to call this a shoehorn, but I'm keeping on open mind on the interpretation of the theme. That middle leaf IS peeking out from between.
