One of two barking dogs up a dirt lane where I went to photograph miniature horses opposite to "their" field. This one was highly enthusiastic, less cowardly, so I encouraged him. Some ambivalence on both our parts I think. Since I was spot focusing on the dark dog, the rest was fairly washed out, so I decided to emphasize this in the processing (channel mixer, curves, USM, softglow).
Not My Pet - considered this for the pet challenge, but went for straighter portraiture with a pet we were looking after, though ever so slightly boring.

I love the straight line of his mouth and the intense stare! Very neat processing, almost has a 'negative' feel to it. I wouldn't want to get on his bad side!

Whoa! He looks fierce! What a capture! But somehow, I have a feeling he is a big softie on the inside once you get that look off his face :)

Creepy Dog! I like the way you processed it to really bring out his mean eyes. I wonder if you added a little more contrast if it would really give it a more dramatic feel. Just a thought. I bet this a the nicest dog and he's getting a bad rap from this shot.. LOL

From the thumb I wasn't sure about the processing, but now that I've opened it up, I quite like it. It somehow makes the dog more threatening. Very nice idea of how to handle the shot.

Excellent look on the dog's face. I would almost like to see this in a closer crop. Fantastic shot - very dream like. And I can sense the apprehension, which is underscored by the title.

yikes! looks like he could jump over the fence. I really like how the focus is on him, but again..to much gray for me. but not sure it would bring my eyes to him without this effect. hmmm..
