I'm pretty sure I shot overexposed to get the snow nice and white. I'm not positive because this was out the car window on the way to the shoot. I don't really care if it's not black and white enough for some people, because I am in love with this photo, and love is blind.

converted from raw in CS3, lightening the lights and darks and darkening the shadows. it didn't change the picture drastically except to bring out the snow on the crows. Severe crop.

I call it a signature of crows because the grass below the crows looks like the signature of an artist. But who is the artist? I can't quite read it...

I like it, Don. I'm a sucker for nicely composed blurred bird shots. Thanks for explaining about the signature - I agree with you.

I'd be in love too, if it were mine. Hang it. :)

I love every blurry one of them. Most of all I love your comment: "I don't really care if it's not black and white enough for some people, because I'm in love with this photo, and love is blind." :D

And here I thought a signature was something akin to a flock, but with only four. I'm in awe of the fact you can see snow across the body of the birds. Were you driving along beside them or stopped? Not that it matters - I'm just curious. And I agree with Colleen. Print on canvas, large, then hang.

Well Don, I was one of your 9's, and would give you the Posthumous award if I could, LOL. Utterly fantastic. I love the movement here. The only thing (and it's a nit) that kept me from a 10 is the curving line at the top - it breaks up the continuity for me. BTW - the grass at the bottom looks like writing in a beautiful script. I think this has to go into faves.

Absolutely Fan-friggin-tastic. Great shot. This should get a posthumous ribbon.

This looks like it should be a greeting card of some kind. Not sure what it should say, exactly ... kind of get a lonely, battling the elements feel from this, but there may be a house with hot cocoa just out of view. I like it.

Isn't it a 'murder' of crows?

Nice, but IMHO cropping out that left-hand blurry crow would improve it.
