Rose in a glass vase reflected in a Marble slab my wife uses for pie crusts... 1000 watts of light shone on the rose with no light on the marble...

I like the subtle look; I think you could even tone back the leaves a bit and keep the effect, but I like it as is..

Beautifully done. This photo has a "vintage" feeling. I really like it! How did you create this?

I like your picture, the green leafs enhance the stone rose, perhaps the title could have been: "My memory of You"

lovely soft reflection in the marble. (wondered how a few rose petals would have looked instead of the leaves? assumed you were looking for a higher contrast in texture and color by using the leaves...ummm.)

Such pretty faded colours but brought kicking into life by the leaves at the bottom.

I really like this picture and certainly the Rose appears to be trapped within the stone. The tone is excellent.
I assume the leaves were placed bottom right to help with the composition. However, for me personally, I think this distracts slightly - as the leaves appear to be out of proportion and disconnected from the Rose. I hope you understand my point (even if you disagree with it) as overall I still think this is a very good picture – 8 :-)

I cannot believe somebody recommended this for DQ. I love this, and I think I know how you did it. I only wish there was a little shape or something on the top right to break up the surface. But that's me. 9 nards656

Your eye seems to have to convince you that this is a reflection so for me it takes time to realize the beauty of this shot. Is there anyway you couldve shot this where it didnt take so long to "see"? 6 Mags Coyote

Very cool shot, your focus on the rose is great. Almost looks like a painting. The leaves in the lower right corner kind of spoil the soft ghostly feel of the shot for me. lhall-9

Simply with leaves.

I haven't been able to figure out why you would have needed to prove that it was a valid refection. To me, it's obvious. The reflective surface is marble, isn't it? I think it's beautiful. Nicely done.

the subtle reflection is lovely..great feeling of calm. I like the contrast between the leaves and negative space.

This reminds me of a greeting card. It almost looks like there's a piece of vellum over the rose. Is the surface marble? It's very pretty, and putting the leaves in the shot is a great balance. It bothers me to see the reflection of the...bottle (?) tho. ~indigo997

I would have left the two leaves out of the shot and just had the reflected flower. But still one of my favourites this week. 9

What a lovely effect!! Assuming that I'm right and that the reflective surface is a marble countertop, including a vein in the corner of the picture was very nice. I understand and appreciate the placement of the leaves, however I can't help but wonder what it would look like if they were "attached" to the reflection of the rose stem. Just a thought. Congrats on the photo and good luck in the challange. 10

I like the fact that you left the reflecting object out of sight....

Great photo! The leaves at the bottom really make it. I'll be real interested to see how you did the lighting. I even like the line in the marble and the way it leads to the rose. Super, super job! Good luck in the challenge! DPz

First class!! Delightful new take. I love how it looks like a painting. I've looked and looked and can't see where the photo contains any reflection. I feel strongly about photos meeting the criteria of the challenge. =8 normally, IMO,... -2 for no reflection. =6 syamjonimi

This is a superb shot. The artistry of the light is wonderful. It has an amazingly relaxing quality and I also like the use of the leaves to add the reality punch. OK, I can't fault the picture- I really like the shot. But, I'm not sure how it fits the challenge. Is there a reflection here, not sure; it looks like a picture of a painting of a rose was used… Hmmm… Hope that makes sense… (9) Yes, I do like it that much …

Nice use of the vibrant green leaves for contrast.
