Well I got a alightly used Nikon D200 and have spent must of the week RTFMing and working out how to read and process the files once uploaded. I had a copy of PSPX2 that I had won and I loaded it on my system. It could read the files but there were no raw adjustments as there was in PSE3.0 when reading the D70s raw files. And I have never felt comfortable using PSP to process.

I ended up upgradiog from PSE3.0 to PSE6.0 and the camera raw in PSE6.0 did the trick and then some. The number of adjustments I could make were so many more than the PSE3.0 raw adjustments that it is gonna take some time to get used to. So bear with me and try not to slaughter me.

I halved the Largemente construction paper set up and spread the strips across the top of my light box. I taped a spoon to the back of the light box. I shot this with the camera on tripod but I've no cable remote yet but the detail on this came out OK I think. I also taped a piece of aluminum foil to the front of my monitor as a background to the spoon. I thought pain black would have been a bit boring and the background in this is not too busy but I'm sure I'll hear about it. Enjoy!

Post: Camera Raw adjustments in PSE6.0:
Increase Temprature to 3700
Increase Tint to 43
Increase Exposure to +0.35
Increase Fill Light to 40
Increase Contrast to 40
Increase Clarity to 50
Increase Vibrance to 35
Increase Saturation to 20

Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Sharpen. Cropped 2x. Thought the colors were a bit much so I did another layer of hue/saturation to tone it down a bit. Resize. Sharpen.

Robert, you're getting a lot of mileage out of that set-up! :-)

I didn't vote in this challenge, but I like the colors in this.

Very nice colors! I'd love to see a sharper dof in the foreground particularly, but really like this ... bet it would be awesome with just the spoon alone too.

That's a spoon. A common, average, everyday spoon. That's ... nothing short of amazingly creative. I'm in awe. I couldn't possibly give this less than a 10.

Love this shot as is, but would like to see it out of curiosity as a portrait sized photo... cropping left and right a bit. Very cool.

Nice set up, with great colors.. Wish the spoon would have been up just a little bit more so as to include the entire basin. As is, you still get a high 8!
