This is one of my daughter-in-laws little twin sisters -- and one of my favorite people on the planet :) It was taken in very low light, but we wanted kind of an urban, grungy look, so I actually think the slight grain adds to this one. But that's just me.

Maybe I like this photo this week because her expression pretty much matches how I felt all week :) But ahhhhh, the resiliance of the human spirit. . .it's all better now :)

Great lighting and lovely portrait. The light has a natural, flowing transition from bright to dark which frames the subject very well.

must be nice to have such great models at your disposal, it seems like there is some grain on this shot but i am looking at it on my work laptop which does not even come close to my home desktop for graphics capabilities

Dang! another week gows by when I can't write a small list of things that niggle me! Technically its almost perfect (composition/lighting/exposure/BW range are all spot on).

I do keep getting drawn to the wall in the left third of the picture and wonder if a brick or plastered wall would improve the image or detract from the subject - Caitlin.

This is one elegant lady! Excellent photo! Great urban element, pensive eyes & mouth. This is one pretty lass who needs no "cotton-candy" smile to be attractive for the camera. Looks like one example of a great family! :) You are blessed! :)

She does look a little blah. Love the textures and the transition of light to dark but where's the grunge?

I really like the serenity of this one. You're extremely good at capturing the essence of the moment.

Very fine BW - gets all the textures, and there are a lot!, just right. Nicely set up to reflect an in between time.

I don't get a grunge feel from this. It get a soft pensive moment kind of glow. The lighting is beautiful and I love the expression on her face!

Really nice lighting and a beautiful model, I like the grain though I feel it's a bit rough in the shadow side of her face, just a matter of tast though.

Feelings are contagious, you remind me. Your model looks warm and cozy, thoughtful and tranquil. Those feelings a transfered to the viewer as well. Like a yawn, it catches.

Wow Sandy and Caitlin! What a wonderful contrast in light and emotion. This is such an awesome portrait that I don't think it would have mattered one way or the other on the grain. It looks so nice just like it is..and I'm sure would look just as nice at iso 100....

This is fantastic Sandy. I like the lighter area on the left, then she has that gaze off into the dark area on the right.

Sandy-This is really nice. I like the way you placed your model in the light. The shadows are delicate leaving generous detail which helps bring out her soft expression.

what a pretty face! i like this alot, a little grainy but theres nothing you can do about that in lowlight, i like the depth it gives to her face with one side being lit well. nice capture.

Beautiful balance in the lighting to capture detail at both ends of the scale and keeping a perfect face (technically and esoterically) in the overall composition.

What a great portrait! You have certainly captured the mood here. The composition, and lighting are just right. I like the range from dark on the right to light on the left side of the photo.

The lighting in this shot is exceptional. Love the fade from light to dark. Excellent crop as well. Even the slight grain is a plus here. I would love to provide some points to improve, but I can't find any.

This is one of your best, I think.

This is a beautiful portrait. Very soft feel to it with just enough grain to make it perfect. The lighting rules here!!! Hope this next week goes better for you.
