when shooting for this challenge my aim was to get the yellow of his body and some of his tail and crop a whole heap .. so the fact that all of him isnt showing wasnt a problem for me .. i just wanted to get as close as i could without him flying off ..
he stayed for a few shots and then flew off .. then he came back .. to just about the same spot ..
then he flew off again .
and then he came back AGAIN .. !!.. this time when he came back he was EATING A SMALL INSECT .. pretty amazing i reckon ..
the photographs i took of him eating the insect werent as good as the ones where he wasnt ..
anyway .. he went off again after eating most of his meal and came back AGAIN ..
then he went and didnt return ..
they are the most amazing looking insects .. quite beautiful and ugly all at the same time .. !!
it seemed like this one knew i wanted to get a very good photograph of him .. he got bored sitting there posing so he went off .. then he must'v felt kindly towards me so he came back .. then the hunger pangs started so he probably thought he'd just grab a quick feed ..
he had his feed .. waiting waiting .. then probably realised that i'd got what i wanted and went for good ..
