this shot may not be the best from a technical point of view, but it's the one that evoke my deepest feelings in 2007. i think this photograph is universal, it represents the past and the present, the beauty and a feeling of sorrow.

it will probably not stand against all the beautiful northern light, sunset and hdr shots, but i don't care, it's the one shot that's already hanging on my wall and that's it! :)

oh and another reason i chose this one is because i goddamn missed the abandoned house challenge, that i've been waiting for since the first one had been announced. but since we moved i didn't have internet connection i heared about that challenge on the last day, which was too late to shoot all the cool ideas i had i my mind just waiting for that abandond house challenge.

These are so interesting, it is a really great study I like them all.

This may be my favorite of all the photos in this collection. It tells a very sad story.

That piece of paper in the corner gives so much character to this photo. Great work.

Wow, if this were mine, it would certainly be the best of my year. Great work, this is so very evocative. So many stories to be got from this.

This is good--admittedly it's hard for an image of this bleakness to compete against the color splashes in Best of, but it held its own pretty well.

That was the year I graduated. I meant to come back. But I couldn't bear to look at where I'd been through that window. Sometimes, you would be so impatient for the phone to ring that you would stop staring at the phone and stare at the pole outside, as though you could catch a hint of the signal before it reached the house. We were both trapped. The window framed us both.

Like the rustic/historic feel here. Nicely composed. Simple and effective. Good Luck. 7.

Vintage and evocative. I love the mountain that quietly appears in the distance.

Great vintage shot, I really love the overall effect. I would have probably score a point higher if the line in the wall wasn't on the right side it just takes away from the image a little.

I love the composition, the calendar is inviting me in to reflect, picturing an old lady looking out wondering when her lost husband will return...title is perfect...

I love a photo that tells a story. I love how the focus extenda all the way to the mountain across the ocean. On the 20th of some month in 1988 something profound happened here. it wasn't a death because the image extends so far outward into distance and time. It contrasts the small safe home with the allures of the wide wide world. The boy left home and went out to seek his fortune fairy tale style? Someone was hurt by the leaving and waits by the window for a return. You could write a whole novel based on this one image. Wonderful.

Very nice image. Such a great old-west feel even though the date is 1988.
