| I have come back to look at this several times and have finally decided I like it :) The composition / subject is just so odd, that it took me awhile to appreciate it. I just really like the black and whites, the lighting and the way she is looking straight into the camera. It may not be totally to my tastes, but it certainly carries an impact. Congrats! |

| Wow, this is just great on so many aspects, especially since weird impressionism portraits like this always contribute to the wow factor. I love it's trippy vibe and lighting is perfect on both the black and white stripes. |

Congrats on the ribbon Claire! Well done and well deserved!
Just thinking about what might have helped it score a little higher... I'm thinking that maybe a little more detail in the whites (the nose and flower details). Not a lot, or it would spoil the effect. But just enough to give the viewer a little more to hang onto.
Anyway, congrats on another 7+ finish! :-)

Your photo is technically good; but as you may appreciate, sometimes mere taste is a decisive factor in weighing a photos score; in a photo such as yours 1,2,3,4 even 5 represent the same attitude towards this type of photography. This does not necessarily reflect my exact opinion on such photos, but it is a response I felt you are entitled to.

| whoa so powerfull. the make-up and the flower makes a great effect. the black/white effect with the cross and the background is excellent. a ribbon winner for sure. looks like a larus' (like a negative picture of "cross") but in any case a great portrait. |

| The contrast at the bottom of the frame is great. Since you have great backlighting I think this would have worked much better with a black background. |
