I know this is a commonly photographed item of architecture, but I really liked the how the lines and curves worked together.

Really great use of shapes and lines.

beautiful lead in perspective. perfect sky too. may have benefited from evening light.

The only thing missing from this is a postage stamp! :) Looks like a postcard, nice photo!

very nice, the leading line is great

Almost good for the curves competition too!

very clever use of leading lines and reflections. I think u may have lost some quality on resizing ...
04/03/2002 06:05:00 AM
Not much creativity here. I might have just taken the shot of the reflection with ripples.
04/02/2002 03:16:00 PM
nice composition

Nice refection in the water, seems to be at a slight angle which is a shame.

postcard time.

One of my favorites! The curve of the sidewalk leading to the monument is great! Focus, composition...Excellent!

Nice Curve!

You should rephotograph this for the latest challenge with quieter water, nice composition

Good interpretation. It would also work for the curves challenge.

I like the way that the fountain's edge leads the eye to the Monument. Great reflection in the water, as well.

Nice use of reflection.

great connection between the curve of the pond and the obelisk; the obelisk is slightly off vertical-enough to make it look bad, not enough to make it dramatic; the trees on the left need something to balance them on the right; the picture is not clear enough

i wish this photo was less grainy and sharper, because it could be really nice. i love the curve leading into the monument.
04/01/2002 10:50:00 AM
A bit grainy
04/01/2002 09:04:00 AM
I love the symetry of the reflection

i live in dc too, so i took some shots of the monument. tried to steer clear of shots that were similar to ones i had seen before tho. very nice composition, though! like the curving line leading into the monu ..

I wasn't too fond of those upon first viewing. Good for you I didn't vote on it then either. Your positioning is perfect for the awesome reflection. Well done.
04/01/2002 01:27:00 AM
the picture is tilted to the right unfortunately... its too bad you can't submirt this to the curve challenge! :)
04/01/2002 12:46:00 AM
It may be my eyes or my monitor, but the monument seems to be tilting to the left.
04/01/2002 12:20:00 AM
like the curve that brings the eye around the photo but distance seems kinda of bland..nice reflection
