Hi greetings from the CC, well you certainly found a conflict : ), I am glad I am not in this cage. I will start with saying this is a great capture, and often to get a good capture some things have to fall by the way side, in a perfect world the things I think that would of improved your shot a little would be, a bit more room on the bottom so back paws and tail not cut off. A higher aperature to get a bit of DOF would of blurred the background possibly enough so that you could fool some viewers that the shot was taken at the zoo. Overall however very good capture with great exposure, and sharp. I am enthralled by the lions paw size. Good work and happy shooting!

any wild life is almost guaranteed to be photogenic... ALMOST

i don't mind this one so much. i do wish the lioness's hind legs weren't cropped. try to be aware of what is happening at the EDGES of your shots. the subject is the easy part to get - make sure things bleed off of it in a nice controlled manner. i usually use textures or lines at the edges of my shots (notice how well the rest of the photo works at the edge...the green bamboo shoots, the concrete, the straw, but then the lions leg...

oh well not bad :)

Clearly one of the top shots this week. Too bad the lioness wasn't more confrontational (or at least facing him), but you don't have much control over that. ;-)

Wow, he looks mad! He had better behave or she won't catch his dinner, LOL!

A good shot and fits the challenge well. I like the natural light, the cropping seems a bit off since her feet and tail got cut off but overall a good shot. An 8

This is a really nice shot. Depicts the challenge very well. The only problem I have with this is the placement within the frame. I would have liked to have seen less of the top and a little more of the lionesse on the lower right side. Colors are nicely balanced. Score: 7 Very well done! Good luck!

Is he urinating from the center of his chest?! lol
I assume not. Great capture here. Wating for something to happen at the zoo really pays off. 10

Great capture. Maybe litle bit more colorsaturation (though not sure).

Good idea for the theme. I think the picture would look better if you include the full hind feet of the lioness, instead of cropping it off.

Finally...someone actually chose an action shot associated with an animal/bird. I really like this one. It captures the mood of the theme...plus it's well composed and it's a beatiful photo.

Great shot and great for this challenge. If you'd sharpened this up, maybe using USM in Photoshop if you have it, or sharpen in any other program, this would have brought out so much more detail... The details is there, just that you hadn't sharpened it.

Amazing shot. It almost look like they were waiting for you to take the photo. And even though you're not seeing "his" expression, you can tell that the younger lion is having a difficult time.
