The resolution to conflicts. This was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the challenge title so I went and photographed it in my small home studio.

Nice lighting and composition, as well as tonal range. Clever shot, and one of the more pleasurable to look at in the challenge! 8

I like the composition and exposure here. But as you can see from the other rock-paper-scissors entries, a little too on-the-nose. (Too obvious, trite, common.)

I love the way this was done. The blurred edges draw your eye right to the middle, the center of the conflict. The type of scissors are perfect...rather than plastic handles or strange colors, these lookold and make the photo feel timeless.

We call it rocks paper scissors where I come from. :)
It will be interesting to see how this scores. It's a literalism of a game used to avoid conflict... I think it's a great photo and very creative. 9

Okay, guess I see the conflict here but don't really find this very interesting to view. Technically, not bad at all and I can't fault it.

What a clever idea - that little "conflict resolution game" is a clever way to represent the theme. Composition doesn't do anything for me - seems a bit haphazard - what shape are you looking to make with your choice of layout - the shapes of both the objects and the space around them isn't particularly dynamic to me. I also find lighting a little uneven and DOF too shallow - that the nearer extremes of the scissors are out of focus doesn't add to this for me.

Good fit to theme. I dislike the near DOF effect on the botton. You can increase the DOF closing the aperture. Remeber the near DOF is always short than far.

I wish the scissors were a bit more in focus I understand that may have been the desired effect but I still feel if it were a bot more in focus it would present the concept better...nice idea very creative...

My favourite of the rock-paper-scissors photos. I like the focus on this - silky smooth to razor sharp - as well as the subtle tones. Very pleasing to the eye; nice job.

more DOF - the scissors should be in focus i think

This is my favorite of the rock, scissors paper theme. I'm rating it high because you took the time to a) compose it well b) use appropriate ligthing and c) apply an effetive tone. Good job!

This is a great idea. I wish more of the scissors were in focus, but I do like the semi-shallow DOF and how the color/light fades up.
