Many thanks to my first official model, Andre. He sure looks tough but really a sweetheart! Going for the urban, hip hop, Rapper 50 cent look...I thought it was successful. The hard part was choosing which shot to enter, I had so many! Thanks Andre (and Andre's Dad, Danny for setting up the shoot!).

POST CHALLENGE:
Woo Hoo! Top Ten works for me! Yeah, I know, there wasn't 600 entries but still the same, I'm happy to be on Page One! And, I gots me a little star by my entry****!

I agree with the Dentist - perhaps moving him away from the wall and shooting along a wall a bit to abstract and deepen the background would help? The figure looks great though, and a top ten - I don't have one so who am I to talk! ;)

Very good challenge rendition, facial expression and contrast with the t-shirt. There's something about it that I don't really like... I think it's the background with it's dominating mid-tone gray.

Not really seeing the hood, except maybe for the fresh bricks ;) Model is right on, not sure I like the b/w 5

Good Sharpness. I think the DOF could have been a little better if you would have had him stand further back from the wall. Good shot overall.

........... 9.5 elbow touching the lower border should be showing.
I still will score this one a TEN

The photo technicals are good, lighting etc... but the photo is too clean i guess is how i would describe it. The shirt, hat are spotless and whiter then white, the wall looks like it was just built or one of those pull down backdrops. The model has a tough guy pose but the feeling in the pic contradicts that and doesn't work for me.

Possible slight oof? His face seems a tad soft in comparison with his shirt. Over all though, I like the vibe you got from him. Very cool.

what a great stare - that is one tough dude! I am not a big fan of the brick wall background, and it seems that there is a bit of a heavy hand with the neat image/ noise ninja

good portrait and nice light and bw conversion. although it does shout ghetto, it doesnt portray street smarts. however, it looks a bit too clean and neat to be ghetto, perhaps a different background would help. crop seems a bit to short on bottom as his elbow is cutoff. 7

I would have liked to see the muscles defined a bit more

I like the bit of attitude you captured here. It hits the challenge well.
