The dancer's name is Mary.

First time using a photo studio, so much fun! Wish I could afford strobes of my own, would love to experiment more with this kind of lighting.

Any comments and/or critiques would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

The blurriness in her foot is too distracting

I'm really surprised this didn't make the front page. I love the post and the stopped action. Great shot.

Nuts, this contest won't let me vote, but this is the standout picture in my opinion. Crisp sharp, great subject, clean capture. Very nicely done. "10".

Only nitpick is a teeny bit of motion blur on her bottom foot. DOF and lighting are great, and the model's pose and eye contact are well done. Helps that she is fetching :)

I like this shot for its simplicity and clarity. The grey background is a bit dull and the use of the wide angle lens causes her extended leg to appear slightly larger and out of proportion. The model's stare is captivating and there is a strength that implied in the "pose" - straight arm, straight leg and the calf muscle. The focus and composition are outstanding. The good definitely outweigh the the two minor negative points. This gets a very high rating from me and added to my favorites. Well done.

While not perfect, it is a memorable and striking photo. I'll guess this will be the winner of this challenge. I'll attribute the toe blur of the left foot to being out of the DOF plane. If one assumes that, then this is a good fulfillment of the challenge. And, an attractive photo. Great work! (10)

The left foot is a bit out of focus otherwise is a great picture!

The image does not imply stopped motion as it looks like she is merely sitting.

I'm glad the title explains the picture.

I don't care much for the gray background.
