Sea-Tac Airport.

Post Challenge Comments:
Didn't expect to due quite this well.

Noticed the comments about distortion, actually there is none. The glass actually is concave and swoops in then extends out very quickly. That is why the bottom of the frame has no distortion.

Non crop. I have about 6 other takes, some with more of the legs/chairs, but I felt it did not have as strong as a visual impact. Airplanes fly through pretty quickly, so I did not have to wait long to capture one. Most of them though would take up to 1/4 of the frame, but I preferred the one in the oft distance.

For some reason I sometimes have difficulties down rezing sizes. This was another case. Looks sharp as can be at the normal resolution, but appears to have artifacts when I reduced the size. Oh well.

Cheers all.

A fav in a heartbeat - I've not seen this image before today and I'm totally in love with it.

How on earth did that plane make it into that upper left hand window on time - SMILE!

Wowee, this is the first I'm seeing this! Cowabunga! Love it! Totally digging the plane upper left. Congrats on the nice score too!

What can I say but COOL -- WAY COOL!

This is a really cool shot - great eye for the geometrics, and you scaled it well by keeping the waiting passengers way down at the bottom. A really good thought-out composition.

New top 5 - congrats. Great shot and magic with the little flyer top left.

Down rezing? There may be resampling options (though as far as I know I never budge from default). Some of the pixel-y stuff like noise reduction and sharpening may be best left until after resizing.

Beautiful photo. I love how the vertical lines are complemented by the lines of the chairs. Great timing with the one plane in the upper left square. And the black and white processing is awesome!

Very cool shot Jayson. I like the strong lines. Good job on the B&W conversion.

Re: distortion

I actually wondered whether it was from a curved wall... then decided it wasn't. I should'a stuck with my first reaction!

Congrats on a great finish and a great shot.

I love how massive this is! What a great capture getting so much in, without being busy. LOVE the lines as well. Great b/w. (Too bad you didn't get someone pointing up to that lonely plane in the left corner, like little kids do? It makes me laugh to see :)

This is FANTASTIC. I missed it in voting, but I'm putting it in my faves now. There's just so much to explore: the people, the planes, and that one plane in the upper left is so cool.

Love this - obviously the top left plane is the icing on the cake, but it is also the dissociation of the figures in their seats. Fine work.

Very strong graphic image, with a touch of surrealism. The 'audience' could be watching opera at Glyndebourne or such like, rather than aeroplanes! Well spotted, and very well presented.

Cool composition. I like the plane all the way in the extreme corner. There is some distortion in the grid and I wonder if it would work to fix that. Because the distortion is only at the top (I am guessing you cropped some on the bottom) I think it is a little off-putting. A very cool shot. 7 from me.

This is awesome. Might be even more awesome if the distortions were corrected, not sure. I'm guessing it suffers from the small size, too... too bad.

Great shot. The plane in the upper corner is..is... serendipitous? Is that what I want? That and the lamp. And the hanging basket. What a delightful shot to visit with!

Now this is so cool, the use of negative space and the deep DOF to keep the people in focus and everything outside the window also is a good choice... moving up to 10.

Nice view through the SeaTac terminal window. I like the pattern formed by the window grid. People at the bottom of the frame humanize the image.

great frame of the plane in the top corner, I wish you had taken a step back to get everyone's feet but my only critique 8

Interesting shot. The bit i like is how the plane is framed in one of the panels and is completely not part of the composition in the classical sense but is just "there". Nice job in B&W

LOVE this! Awesome perspective, great BW conversion, and the plane in the upper square is the bomb.

This is cool, especially with the plane framed in the upper left rectangle. Works well in B/W.

Amazing shot.... Im not quite sure what strikes me about it.... but I love this shot. Almost saying something about the human condition.... each individual gathered for the same collective purpose suffering the almost agonizing wait for their flight. The composition is great.... love the single airplane in flight.... well done!
