Great shot, Brian! Was expecting to see it on the front page, or at the very least among top 10...

This shot is just so gut-wrenching and evocative. Though I generally like color versions of images better, this is so powerful in B&W.....or Duo-Tones.....8>)

IMO this was underrated, too. It's a fabulous image....a fav.

Beautiful eyes. I would have cleaned up the skin a little as the eyes being as pretty as they are don't match the skin so well for this type of shot IMO.

looks a bit oversharpened in some places. The squares lights in her eyes? BUT other than that I love the whole composition and the fact that the sepia works so well for the subject ( the duotone has a purpose in this one).

Love the expression you have captured. Almost looks a bit too edited, with that I mean the child almost looks like a painting. If that is what you were going for you nailed it. I love the eyes, and the slight blown out nose doesn't harm the shot. Great composition and use of negative space. It tells quite a story in those eyes. Nice work. 8

Lovely image. I like the contrast and the dark shadowy feel overall. Great eyes and the "swept" hair is perfect. Looks like one hair over the eye was missed but that makes this a real shot of a real kid. Nice textures and of course a fanstastic face. Back to bump you up to 9.

Love the eyes. The lighting is good but has a flat feel if that makes sense at all. Great use of neg. space. Love the hair hanging over on the left. 7

wonderful emotion. however, i don't think the entirety of the black on the right is needed. Maybe half of it cropped out would still show the darkness, but give more focus to the face. Well done, though. 8

Looks like it could have been a cool shot, but you seem to have lost a lot of image information when saving for web, 5.
