Did not believe a gull wood be this close for a shot, even with the big lens on set at 300mm. the sun was good and allowed a nice shadow effect with the angle of the head.

This is full frame with the exception of a minor crop top and right because of background ellements.

Post Challenge: I find the balance of voting in this challenge very strange for this photo to only receive this score, when I see shots in the high 5's low 6's compared to this shot. Maybe I am biased but I believed this would finish in the 6's. Congratulations to all those that did well.

well done indeed. the exposure on the white feathers is spot on. that touch of red on his eyelids makes the shot.
