 Walked around Lake George, NY with nshapiro for a couple of hours when I was in the area for a family wedding. The trees were really gorgeous.

I started out trying to make it good and sharp, but it just kept looking bad. Finally, after an initial sharpening pass, I tried various combinations of gaussian blur and fading in PS CS2. For once, my Critical Mass teammates and my wife were unanimous that this was the one: gaussian blur at 80 pixels and faded 50%. Resize, submit.

Very nice view into the tree. Funny thing I almost enjoy the shot without the trunk (if I cover with my hands, but of course it wouldn't meet the challenge as well). Very highlight detail and terrific colors.

I liked this, gave you a 6, but my problem with all these was just that.....too many trees. This was far and away one of the best.

Ahhh Jeffrey, perfectly great photo to demonstrate how complimentary colors enhance everything. The bright blue and the beautiful yellow/orange ... awesome. And the man throws in the diagonal too to just raise the bar!!!

it was so hard not to take this type of picture this past foliage season here in the sticks! The foliage has been awesome & you captured this so nicely! Good for you and congrats on your finish!

Among all the canopy shots that came in yours is one of the better ones...the colors stand out very nicely and the trunk at an angle pulls you in

Love the angle on this, love the diagonal line, colours are beautiful, so clear, I could go on and on!

Nice impact. Like the dark branches above contrasted with the richly colored leaves. The tree trunk leads my eyes nicely to the beautifully colored foilage. My favorite so far in this competition.
