I live in a small town and am fortunate to live in a place where murder, rape, theft, mayhem are NOT part of the routine for the front page.

Sports are a big deal here for kids and parents. Some parents do get a little carried away in their enthusiasn (for better and for worse), but the community comes together to rally behind their children and their favorite teams.

Sure, something like this could make it to the front of the SPORTS page instead of the MAIN page, but it works for me as it represents where I live.

Oh in this league's flag football, they say they don't keep score hahaha. BUT the scoring is just one point per touchdown.

I don't care if this is not considered "journalistic" enough. But if you are taking time to read this, please remember that photojournalism does not always have to show the downside of life.

I agree that the world would be a better place if papers focussed as much on good news as they did on bad news. I thought this was a lovely action shot of kids just having fun

One thing I would say though is the league may not keep the scores, but I bet the kids and parents do!!!

This is a very cool shot. Love the colors and the action. Two thumbs up... hey, that'd be an 11.

I love it, Michelle! It's the same around here too, and you're absolutely right. I love the great expression of the kids, the action, and the waving flag.

I guess due to minimal editing you couldn't crop... this photo would have benefited from cropping in quite a bit... whether in camera or on photoshop... good capture, love the faces... would just like to be closer.

I would love to see that with a tighter crop around tha main two players. it would help bring the action in focus. The expression of the boy in red trying to steal the ball is priceless.
