thank you very much for all your positive and helpful comments... the crop and dof were intentional, of course, but it was interesting to hear whether people liked the effect of it or not...

lovely shot indeed. only thing I would have done is positioned the face in the middle. as it is one eye is out of frame. 8

I'm not sure the DOF decision worked. I always prefer sharp eyes, but beyond that, this is nicely done.

Good work this - and like the title. I think it such a simple composition you mgith need to really centre the eyes both in the gap of the woollen, and more evenly in frame - that left eye is perahps too far out of things. Good sense of the prickly warmth of the wool, and good rendition of the colours - just a touch over-exposed on the white parts of the pattern though.

Ohhh, very nice photograph. The knitted cap and scarf are perfect for this little one. I know it must have been a deliberate decision to have the child's eyes out of focus in the frame, but I wish you'd gone the other way. The little mischievious eyes would have put the Wow in this picture!

Really love this idea. Would have like a little less crop and more DOF to have focus on the eyes as well as the knit. Title too long, but voting not based on it.

Nice idea, though a wider DOF perhaps . Colors and composition are nice. Title is unnecessarily verbose in my opinion. Good potential.

For me this is one of the bests of this challenge! Real textures and that mocking glance, which is blurred, but it can be seen just enough.

i know you are trying to emphasize the wool texture, but the eyes are ot in focus, nor centered..the left one is partly cut off..need more DOF to get everythingin focus, and the eyes should be centerd left to right but NOT centered up and down -rule of thirds for that
