I don't know if there is any particular reason why this isn't really sharp that is no fault of yours, but for me, if I woulda took this shot, saw it fuzzy like this, I would be awful mad. But it may be a compression problem, not the shot.

a faster shutter speed would have done wonders for this

I like the colors but I would like to see a sharp image of the butterfly.

In my humble opinion, the problems here are a lack of light, which is essential in this type of image in order to obtain the beauty of the colors. I would always look for ways to get in a position that favors as much light as posible on the subject's wings , and the other problem is the lack of focus.

butterfly should be in focus more

focus is quite soft - I think I'd prefer it sharper on the butterfly

Just a bit soft on the focus. The dead flower in the foreground, well...there's just enough to "see", but I prefer foreward items like this a tad more prominent, sort of to say, "it's there on purpose", rather than a bad accident that couldn't be removed. (follow me?) 7 Swash

I would like it better if it was a bit sharper. Pretty colors, though.

Rather out of focus, but I know how hard this shot can be. Butterflies are not willing subjects. Based on difficulty, I give it a (5) Mark Rob

I am rating this shot lower becuase this scene is not specific to your corner of the world. I can see the same setting here is CA. Butterflies are not specifically in one area. I like the focus and the colors. 6

Could use sharper focus and less distraction in background. JEM

Nice idea. The focus seems to be off a bit. Lighting looks good. Meets the challenge.

I think this would be a wonderful shot if the butterfly was focussed. Looks like a beauty.

The only thing that seems really in focus is the leaf below and to the left of the butterfly.

i don't particularly see how this photo describes 'your corner of the world'... The focus is also a little soft for my own personal taste... - jmsetzler
