I picked the flowers up off the ground from a neighbors yard and shot them in my studio under fluorescent lights (cooler so the flowers wouldn't wilt fast) in a light tent.

I did focus on the center part in a different take. But it was just not as interesting to me. :)

I really liked this one a great deal (in fact I was your 10). I thought it was a risky take on the challenge. It was clear to me that you intended to have the focus so that the petals were drawing us in and I clearly got the idea of watercolor or impressionism.

Not a mistake at all!! Quite intentional. I played with focus at all different parts of the flower and even played with having the entire flower in focus. But this is what pleased me the most! Oh well. Guess not everyone likes it in the abstract!

Actually, I put the yellow out of focus on purpose. The intent was to make the image look more like a water-color painting. Some people loved it, some people hated it. I guess its good to be controversial!

Try focusing on the middle orange section.

Very pretty flower but I think that the center of the flower should have been a little more in focus.

a little more DoF and focus could have helped this pic so much!

I persoanlly feel the focus should be at the centre (yellow portion)

Very nice composition, but I would like it better with the yellow part in focus.

I would rather have the focus on the center part of this flower.
