My original idea was try and capture tension between the 4 cheerful blonde models and my dark brooding central figure. Tension can be achieved by the spaces within the frame, as well as the characteristics of the subjects. I was trying to do both. I wanted the dark model to appear to be crowded by the 4 lovely blonde girls, in addition to being out mooded by their cheerfulness

Hmm. I bet high school feels that way to a lot of people. Life, for some other people. Very nice capture of an interesting emotion.

I think you neede a bit of fill lihght her. The bottom girl`s black hair merges with the shadows. The vigneting on the upper kleft does not look natural. There are some blown outs.

great shot. Nice composition and cropping. very good BW conversion. it is actually a portrait ( trust me, a rarity in this challenge) and nails all the technicals.. 9 and a top 10 finish I am sure.

Wow, powerful shot. I really like the contrast between the blondes and the non-blonde. I'm really drawn to the non-blonde's eyes since there's a great contrast between the smiling (blonde) faces and the dark stare of the non-blonde.

Well done and I hope others get the shot.

haha, awesome... "you" look so pissed... and yet i would too if i was a girl, and had to deal with the "Typical" blonde... but yet... i hardly run into these typical blondes... maybe i am just not smart myself?

like the look, especially the four smiles and one angry expression, I would prefer the brunett to be more centered, but that is my taste, nice solid 7

You don't look very happy :) I like the contrast in face expressions. Good clarity. Good light. I like it in B&W. 7.

You may be surrounded but you're the first one I noticed! Nice shot. You're a bit dark (pardon the pun) but I guess it suits the mood in the bottom half of the photo. An "airy" mood above and a "heavy" one below. A juxtaposition of moods :) Holy big words! I think I would've left just a bit more of you in the lower half, but the way it is certainly does make it looks like you're being overwhelmed by blondness! 7

Nice. I like the composition, leading my eye like a spiral through the picture to the 'I' Lighting and b/w conversion are fine, but why does the 'I' person look so sad? Can I make you smile with a high score? (8)

Very nice group photo. My only complaint - the gal 2nd on the left is mostly in shadow. Perhaps 1st gal on left should have been positioned back just a little further.
