Woot! A very unexpected ribbon (at least when I took the shot). Thanks for your votes and comments!

Yes, the drops were made with an eyedropper.
No, I didn't mean "overload".

Come on people. Art is metaphors, similies, personification, and analogies.

This is really neat. Being the hard disk has overflowed, using water (known to most people to have the quality of overflowing) to illustrate an electronic digital concept of the addition of a binary number and not enough registers to account for the total value after the calculation.

Your focus and lighting are very good and it fits the challenge, it is aesthetically pleasing as well but after unknowndeath's question it does me me wonder a bit why there are water droplets on a hard disk, still congrats on your ribbon :)

This is a hard disk with water droplets. I does mean nothing to me personally, but I thought it was a good way to illustrate technology. You might want to look up "overflow" in the dictionary, you'll surely get the connection. )Oh wait, I did it for you:

overflow: noun
...3 Computing: the generation of a number or some other data item that is too large for an assigned location or memory space

got it?

There are alot of hard-drive shots in this competition with only a few that actually took it out of the "box" and used some real creativity!! Way to go!

I love this shot!!! (10)

U'r taking a big chance here. I dont think a lot of voters can recognize a harddrive. That said, the gradient gives the image a nice smooth effect and I like that the head is slightly out of focus. Anyway enough rant. 10

After seeing so many hard disk, yours the only one putting other element onto it. I like your idea on the water droplet. However I would have preferred a wider DOF. An 8 from me.
