Post Challenge:

Thank you everyone! It was fun watching this throughout the week. I had hoped for a ribbon but with all the beautiful shots in this challenge I was doubtful.

I really love how the picture is dark and everything that looks like it had color is a neon white. I like the figure to the left of the castle because that is the first thing i looked at when i opened this picture.

Nice shot. It took about 3 seconds to look at the picture and realize it had been flipped (no, it wasn't the sign). The first thing I thought was that Cabot Tower was on the wrong side of the hill.

Nicely done though.

How life can play cruel tricks on occasion. I love this shot, it not only meets the challenge perfectly but it has been wonderfully executed. It would have got a perfect 10 from me but the speed sign (which unfortunately hits right along a line of third that has been reversed when you flipped the picture is quite distracting to me. I appreciate that you had to do the flip to get the s curve but I reckon that that may be what stops a fantastic shot being a ribbon winner in this challenge

I like your image, but Im curious if it was flipped horizontally. The road sign appears to be backwards. Good composition and meets the challenge well in my opinion. Good luck.

Interesting shot. There is somethign about it that I cant quite put my finger on that needs to be different. Cant say exactly what yet but I feel something is missing from this. I will try and come back and finsih out my thought - when I figure it out myself. Til then 7

Cabot Tower. Last time I was in St. John's we taxied up to the tower to watch the sun rise after pulling an all-nighter at the Swiler's Club. Great shot.

Good looking shot, shame you couldn't clone out the road sign showing you have flipped the image. Spot on s-curve with a good bit of background interest.

Nice image the tail and head lights leading to the castle which is correctly exposed, there is a definite s curve in this. Very good composition.

It's almost like someone plastered a 'S' right out there for you! :) Great idea getting this shot at night. Much better than anything this could have done in daylight, although twilight may have been pretty strong as well. Good luck in the challenge.

Oh, if you could just see car lights going all the way up to the castle. As it is, the car lights compete with the castle for my attention.

Did you invert the photo? I see the miliage sign is backwards! Great idea to get more of an "S" feel!
