I originally was trying to from a car-key into this along with the "blood" for an obvious metaphor but I felt it was too forced and corny. I liked the clarity and simplicity of this. Food coloring looks better with little or no blur so hopefully people can tell it's moving.

Crop/rotate, selective desat, a bit of cloning, noise ninja, save for web.

When I saw this, I wondered if it was going to be another one of Irene's beautiful ribbon winners. It is flawless! Congratulations on perfect execution and an awesome photo!

oh my gosh oh my gosh!!! your lighting is awesome and i LOVEEE that you turned the picture upsidedown. It completely changes the perspective and makes it different from all the other collored water in a glass shots there are out there. clever title as well

I am quite tired of this sort of shot here, but at least this met the challenge.

The glass looks great. It kind of does look like a mushroom cloud.

Great idea. No doubt it would have taken a lot to make this work while including the rim of the glass, but it does look a bit truncated without it.

Simple but oh so elegant! <3

I think this is a great idea. The lighting on the left side of the glass is especially nice (what did you use?). Anyway, I would love to have seen something in the background to accent the scene and bring it together... maybe a bright red flower? Just me... the symplicity is nice too, but it feels like something is missing. I still think its a great original idea.
