Taken at the closed Mare Island Naval Shipyard, mid morning with the sun just behind the smokestack. I had some other shots where the sun looked like it was bursting out of the stack, but liked this more distant shot better. I think the lines of the railroad tracks and the crosswalk in the foreground add some visual interest to the photo.
Expecting about a 5.5, maybe a lot less, but at least I have something to update this week! ;>P

I can't believe this finished 172. Yes, many will think it's underexposed but if they read the description I'm sure they would think differently. Also, I think the lens glare at the top made people think it was actually the sun.
Beautifully done with good timing and patience.
I can't wait for the next silhouette challenge. |

On eof the rare occasions I agree with  posthumous. This is so good and unusual, it should have ended in top10 at least! |
