Many shots, many disappointments but a handful of great focused images.

The Main shot was taken after a 45 min drive to the glass house mountains for some mountain shots but they didn't work out as well as I'd hoped. As I was getting back into the car I saw this tree and the lights of caloundra in the distance. After a few shots I realized I needed something a bit extra, so with my hat & coat in my hand I faked a young child. I think it worked out OK, had I not been tired ( it was close to midnight) I probably wouldn't have thought of it :)but it sure was hard to hold for 30 sec

The Moon shots were taken with my wifes tiny point & shoot a panasonic DMC-FX10. Yes I know it has a 3x zoom but thats more than plenty when I hooked it up to my telescope :) My Real camera is too big & heavy for it to work as well as this.

the middle moon really was this colour, but not as bright in comparison.

I dare say their will be quite a few eclipse shot in this challenge but you have to give it a shot :)

Critique Club feedback:

I found this to be one of, if not the, best of the eclipse images in the challenge. Obviously I wasn't alone in that opinion!

The only critical thing I would have to say about this shot is that the guy appears to be pointing and looking in a different direction from the moon(s), and it was odd enough that it was actually the first thing that hit me about the image. Were he pointing at the horizon in front of them (more towards the top of the shot), I think this would have looked frighteningly 'real'.

Minor nitpick. Hell of a picture.

Good job!

Really well done but the only thing I can point out in this spectacular photo that isn't "right" is two stars inside the shadow on the 6th moon.

Very nice way of displaying the eclipse! My only nitpick is that in several phases of the moon, you chopped it out in a non-circular fashion, leaving blue sky where there should be the blackness of the moon. It looks as though the moon had been bitten off in pieces, rather than just shadowed. Still a fine shot, though -- great idea!

Not bad, I like the effort in this shot. I don´t like the model´s placement though, this shot would have appealed mor to me had they not been under the shadow so I could see them better. Maybe them both standing directly under the red moon, back turned to us, father having let hand on kid´s left shoulder and pointing up at the sky with the right? Also the colors seem a bit strong for a nightshot on the foreground, I would have desatted them somewhat. Sky looks great, ended up giving a 7.
