 A U2 spyplane on approach to Osan AB, ROK.

I was out looknig for a wings photo on a Sunday afternoon. My wife and I were cruising around and I commente dhow it sucks that the Air Force is such a Monday through Friday military as there werent' any planes in the air. All of the planes seem to have been put away for the weekend. So I started looking for a sacred shot and while driving down a road I saw this guy hovering in the distance. I knew I had a little time to get set up for a shot because these planes tend to do several touch and go's when they come in so the pilots can practice landing. If you have ever seen one of these planes land you will know why. The chase car is actually the eyes for the pilot as he can't see the runway.

So we drive across town and I setup at the end of the runway lights. I snap several pictures of him coming in straight on, but I am just not happy. So I watch and sure enough he pulls up for another loop around.

This time I jumped back in the car and drover down a very tight farm road and positioned myself closer to the end of the runway. As he banked around her didn't go to where I was standing before so I was able to get this and other shots of him in his decent. This was my favorite of them because it filled the frame the most while still showing off the giant wingspan of this super secret bird.

PP was pretty simple. I ran it through Neat Image, then adjusted the levels. Slight shadow highlight control followed by some levels adjustment on the sky and some hue adjustments. I then resized, shaprened and saved for web.
