Nice strong use of primary colors and simple composition. The texture of the pavement, wall, and water give all this negative space interest. I like the way the guardrail and the direction of the bird's flight lead to the seated individual. I think the two shadows on the left are distracting and clutter the image a bit. Other than that I think it's excellent.

Dude, you have serious skills when it comes to seeing. Excellent.

Understated and elegiac. One of my 10's for the challenge.

I'm really disappointed that this didn't get a higher average vote. For what it is worth, I really appreciated the photo, which came as a welcome breath of fresh air after voting on 4 humming birds in a row!
As an aside, it may be worth cloning some hair over the bloke's double crown - I do find the two pinpoint highlights rather distracting.

When you wish upon a shadow,
it makes no difference. You will receive
the shadow of your dream.

A Posthumous Red Ribbon for you:

The simple fact that he's looking the other way ...

Awesome. Way too subtle for most voters, I'm sure...but awesome. I might prefer it more without the shadows on the left, but maybe not.

Interesting subtle wings!

I like the idea, and the colors. Not sure how this will do with DPCers though.

Individual should be looking up or down at the shadow. It's too disconnected.

had to look twice before noticing the shadow of the bird. nice out of the box thinking. I like it!
